Spring Fashion: Clothe Yourself in Love
…Last week I wrote about leaving a legacy of love based on 1 John 4:17-18 which describes living in a house of love. I find that today’s scripture takes that concept a bit deeper. If we clothe ourselves in love, that means we take it with us everywhere we go and it influences all of our activities.
Considering that we receive what we also give, think about the possibilities of what you would receive if you go around making decisions and doing things from a foundation of love?
Colossians 3:12-14 (The Message)
12-14So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.
